How to Use the Video Uploader

So, your Model application has been approved and you’re ready to share your content on Pornhub. Wondering what to do next? This blog is your step-by-step guide to uploading videos, with clear instructions on how to use the video uploader.

Logging In

First things first, you must log in to upload a video. To do this, click the user icon at the top right of the screen and select Log In. A pop-up window will appear that allows you to log in via Google, X, or your email and password. Select that one that suits you best.

If you choose to log in with your email and password, you will be prompted to enter a verification code from the 2-factor authentication (2FA) app of your choice. For more information on setting up 2FA, check out the Help Center.

Locating the Video Upload Button

Now that you’re logged in, you can upload your videos.  

When you click on the top right Model menu, you will now see the option to upload a video, as seen below.

Alternatively, you can click the video player icon to take you to the video uploader.

You can also locate the “Upload to Pornhub” button video from the main menu.

Video Uploading

From your video manager, you can select how you want to upload a video: directly from your device, drag and drop from your files, or from your Vault (think of this as a cloud, where you can store your media offline until you are ready to publish it).

Next, select the video you want to upload. Once you have confirmed your video, you will see the upload process in the queue.

First, you’ll need to confirm who is in your video:

• Co-Performers are additional performers in a video whose government-issued ID and release forms have been submitted and approved on your account. Read more on Working with Co-Performers here.
• Collaborators are verified members of the Model Program who have accepted a Collaboration Request. Once accepted, you can tag them in your videos. Our Help Center has more information and instructions on how to send and receive requests.
• Solo/Animation: Only features you (the uploader) or animated content which you (the uploader) have created. Please check our Help Center for more information on How to Get Verified to be an Animator Content Creator.

Next, add a title for your video and select the corresponding language.

A few tips to keep in mind:

• Titles can be up to 100 characters long. Like thumbnails, video titles can also be edited after a video is published.
• Include keywords that accurately describe your video.
• Include your stage name and those of your Co-Performers/Collaborators.
• Use of emojis is allowed.
• Titles are automatically translated based on the viewer’s location. If you wish to override the translation, or select a language outside our subdomains, you can add your own translated titles.  

You can now choose when your video gets published—either immediately after moderation or at a pre-scheduled date using our scheduling tool, as shown below.

This approach also gives your fans the opportunity to fully enjoy each video before the next one becomes available. Plus, it’s an effective way to make sure you meet your quarterly Tiers requirements.

Now you can choose to make your video either free to view on Pornhub and earn ad revenue, or pay-to-view on Fancentro, where viewers must pay to watch. To learn more about becoming a verified creator on Fancentro, click here. 

Is your video vertically shot? If so, it will automatically be published to the Shorties feed. Shorties is our scrollable, vertical video feed optimized for mobile devices. New to Shorties? Check out this blog for more information.

You’re nearly there! Next, select the best audience for your video (Straight, Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual Male or Transgender), identify what language is spoken in the video, and choose the video visibility.

• Public: Video viewable to everyone. Can earn ad revenue!  
• Unlisted: Only those with a link can see the video.

Now the fun part, tags and categories! Optimizing your metadata and using effective titles helps your content reach the right audience. For a detailed breakdown of how to do this, check out Tip 6 from our Top 10 Tips to be Successful in the Model Program series.      

Note: Unlike titles and thumbnails, tags and categories cannot be edited once a video goes live. Enter 16 tags and select 8 categories for maximum exposure!

If your video features sponsored content, you are required to check the “Sponsored Content” box. This includes paid product placements, endorsements, or brand partnerships. This requirement is for viewer transparency and does not affect your earnings.

Similarly, if you upload reaction content (a Pornhub video that features content from another creator), you must indicate it as well. A reaction video shows you, the account holder, giving real-time commentary and responses while watching another video. The focus should be on your reactions, not just the original video.  

Finally, carefully read and certify your video adheres to our Terms of Service and other requirements. Nothing is more important than the safety of our community and the trust of our users. When you are certain, tick the boxes and double-check all information is accurate, and then hit the Submit for Review button.

Once the video is submitted for review, you will be asked to wait while the video enters our moderation process, which may take up to 4 days.  

Checking Video Statuses

You can check the status of your video anytime by going to your Model menu and clicking Video Manager.

This brings you to a page listing all the videos you have uploaded. Note: It may take a few hours for a newly uploaded video to appear in the video list.

To search for a specific video, use the filters at the top left or enter the title in the search box. If you notice a video has been Pending Review for more than 4 days, it may require manual review. Contact our support team at models@pornhub.com with the video title or URL for assistance.

Hot Tips and Additional Resources
