Halftime Show
The Super Bowl halftime show began at 8pm and was led by an outstanding performance by the recent Grammy album of the year winner, Bad Bunny.
While the Super Bowl itself draws an impressive amount of people, the half time show frequently sees the biggest drop in traffic during the entire event.
This year, traffic reached a low of –46% at 8:31pm. What amounts to millions of people took time away from their regular Pornhub visit to watch Bad Bunny perform.

State Champions
Some states showed their patriotism and love of the American tradition that is football a little harder than others. Despite this game involving teams from Massachusetts and Washington, you might not have guessed it from their traffic changes. In Massachusetts, traffic dropped –38% below average, and in Washington, traffic only dropped –19%.
On average, the US traffic change was –24%.
Rhode Island was the most invested in the Super Bowl this year, with their average traffic being down –40%. Following them was Maryland at –39% and then Vermont at –38%.
States that seemed the least interested included the District of Columbia with–12% average traffic, Wisconsin with –14%, and Delaware with –15%.

Pornhub’s United States Traffic
This year, traffic in the competing states saw some significant differences. Traffic from 10am until 4pm stayed above average, perhaps because people wanted to watch the big game without being preoccupied by distracting thoughts.
However, by noon, when traffic in Massachusetts was only up +3% above average, it was +17% above average in Washington. There was a slight shift up to +8% in Massachusetts by 1pm, and +19% in Washington, before both dropped to +4% and +6% at 2pm. At 3pm, to get one last quick session before the game started, traffic in Massachusetts surged up to +18% and Washington was up +19%.
By 4pm, when the game started, the downward trajectory began. It continued to drop, reaching a low of –34% in Washington at 7pm, a low of –42% in Massachusetts, and –28% on average for the entire United States.
Interestingly, at 8pm, when the Super Bowl halftime show started, traffic in Washington seemed to rush back to Pornhub. 20% of people in Washington visited Pornhub, equating their traffic drop to –14%, whereas traffic in Massachusetts continued their downward trajectory to their all-time low, -44%. Overall traffic in the United States reached its lowest point of the day at 8pm as well, -38%.
By 9pm, the upward trajectory of Massachusetts began, seemingly tired of their losing streak during the first half of the game. By 10pm, they reached –11%, and by 11pm, they reached their second highest point of the day, +15%.
Washington’s traffic told a different story. By 9pm, their traffic was only down –9%, before dropping again to –27% at 10pm. By 11pm, they were down –1%, and that number continued to rise a couple percentage points until 2am, when it reached +6% above average.

Pornhub’s Puerto Rico Traffic
With Bad Bunny being a main draw to the Super Bowl for his halftime show, our statisticians looked at how traffic in his home country changed.
Until 6pm, traffic in Puerto Rico remained above average. By 6pm it was down to –7% below average, continuing the trajectory until 8pm, when Bad Bunny’s halftime show started. 8pm was Puerto Rico’s biggest drop of the day, reaching –29%.
By 9pm, traffic was on its way back up, at –12%. By 10pm, it was at –1%. After that, it remained above average.
