The release of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has taken the gaming world by storm. Since it was one of the most anticipated releases of the year, we knew it would impact searches in one way or another. So, naturally, we dove into the data! <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Hourly changes in traffic<\/strong> <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The game was released at midnight, a normally busy hour on Pornhub. However, some people stood in long lines eagerly waiting for their copy long before then. When the doors opened at midnight, traffic on Pornhub was already starting to fall below average. Not by much, but midnight itself saw a drop of -2.3%. The really big changes were yet to come! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Popularity of Zelda searches<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

By May 6th<\/sup>, it seems people\u2019s curiosity was beginning to pique, as the term \u201czelda\u201d saw its first substantial increase with +236%. The following day, the number increased even more, with +357%. However, May 8th<\/sup> to 11th<\/sup> saw that number drop. On May 12th<\/sup>, Tears of the Kingdom release day, it changed again, with a jump to +399%. That trend continued, with May 13th<\/sup> seeing an increase of +759%, followed by +1,362% on May 14th<\/sup> and a massive +1,477% increase on the 15th<\/sup>!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Compared to their average popularity in Q1, that is a huge change in search traffic over the weekend! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Top gaining Zelda searches<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Our staticians wanted to know how the Zelda universe impacted search terms between May 12th and 14th when compared to average. It seemed the character Purah was at the top of the list, as the term, \u201cpurah zelda\u201d saw an enormous increase of +42,257%! Second to Purah was \u201clegend of zelda rule 34\u201d which saw an increase of +22,067%. Coming in third, \u201czelda botw paya\u201d saw an increase of +7,938%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A search term involving cosplay, \u201czelda cosplay\u201d saw a jump in interest to +5,399%, while terms involving hentai, \u201clegend of zelda hentai\u201d saw an increase of +729% and \u201czelda hentai\u201d was up +531%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For those of you unfamiliar with the term, \u201crule 34,\u201d it\u2019s one of the core internet rules stating any object, character, or media available also has porn associated with it. In other words, if it exists, there\u2019s a porn version of it. And Zelda is a prime example of that!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Top Zelda related searches<\/strong> <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Looking at all the searches so far in May, our staticians found after \u201clegend of zelda\u201d the most popular searches were \u201czelda hentai\u201d followed by \u201czelda cosplay.\u201d Purah showed up again in the fourth most popular search term, \u201cpurah zelda.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

After that, many searches became more character-specific, including \u201cprincess zelda,\u201d \u201clink and zelda,\u201d \u201czelda ganondorf\u201d and \u201czelda great fairy.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
