Searches for \u201cethical porn\u201d were up +92% and \u201crespectful sex\u201d was up +61%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cWith the increased production of ethical and amateur porn, it seems that people want something more real! As a society, we\u2019re moving away from the original performative nature of adult entertainment,\u201d said Dakota Ramppen<\/a>, a sexuality educator, relationship coach, and contributor at the Sexual Wellness Center. \u201cOur need to witness comfort and chemistry while exploring the spiciest of desires is taking precedent over what we\u2019re used to seeing.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n With the release of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, a television show about a group of Mormon influencers who got caught in a sex scandal that made international headlines, our statisticians saw a spike of interest in wives. While wives are already hot on Pornhub, the show, in addition to the interest of traditional aspects like authentic couples and authentic sex, seemed to ignite a spark into a flame. <\/p>\n\n\n\n In general, the interest in \u201cwife\u201d and marital searches spiked, with \u201camateur wife\u201d up +21%, \u201ctraditional wife\u201d up +34% and \u201ctradwife\u201d up +72%. Searches for \u201csex olympics\u201d was the highest searched, followed by \u201cnude olympics.\u201d In the third quarter of the year, searches for \u201cathlete\u201d grew +88%, \u201cgymnastics\u201d grew +79%, \u201cswimmer\u201d was up +101%, and \u201cvollyball\u201d was up +165%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n They say Paris is the city of love and apparently people were looking for a little love of their own. The term \u201cParis\u201d was the most searched for city during the Olympics, \u201cFrance\u201d was the most searched for country, and \u201cFrench\u201d was the most sought-after language.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The anime craze continues for the fourth year in a row. People can\u2019t get enough of author-created and generated content. Animated characters have become part of everyday culture, from the TV shows and movies we watch, to the anime style characters featured in illustrations and popular video games. It\u2019s no surprise then, that people are seeking out animated and 3D content on Pornhub as well. With \u201chentai\u201d as the world\u2019s #1 search, the term \u201canime\u201d also rose +4 spots to become the 7th<\/sup> top term of the year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Searches for animation this year grew by +28% and searches containing \u201c3D\u201d were up +19%. As far as top gaining searches went, \u201crealistic animated\u201d was up +78%, \u201cgay animated\u201d was up +23%, and \u201crule 34 animated\u201d was up +15%. For those who are unfamiliar, rule 34 refers to the porn version of something, such as video game characters or comic book characters who are typically unassociated with porn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n If you weren\u2019t living under a rock this year, you no doubt heard the phrase, \u201cHawk Tuah\u201d \u2014 an instant, viral hit that took pop culture by storm. All over the world people are showing increasing interest in this type of content, which can include video game characters, anime style characters, and 3D animation, to name a few. This growth aligns with the popularity of \u201chentai\u201d which remained in the number 1 spot again this year. The term \u201cwife\u201d saw an increase of +12 spots, also aligning with the defining trend of Pornhub Wives. The term \u201creal amateur\u201d saw an increase of +10 places and the term \u201cteacher\u201d saw an increase of +11 places.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The top 5 most searched for pornstars this year remained similar to last. Angela White climbed +1 spot to take the lead for most searched pornstar of 2024. Abella Danger was the 2nd most searched pornstar. Violet Myers got some love this year, jumping +2 spots to make her the 3rd most searched pornstar of 2024. Lana Rhoades held the same place as 2023, in 4th. Eva Elfie was the 5th most searched pornstar of the year. And Alex Adams jumped up +7 spots this year, putting him in 6th. This year, \u201canimation\u201d got a massive boost of +17, landing it as the 15th<\/sup> most searched term in the US. Last year, the term didn\u2019t appear on the list, once again reinforcing the Animated Arousal trend. The term \u201cfurry\u201d also saw a big jump, +15 spots, putting it on the top most searched terms list this year as well. Other terms that saw noticable increases were \u201cjoi\u201d at +8 spots, \u201cwife\u201d at +8, \u201ctrans\u201d at +6, and \u201ccheating\u201d at +5.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Things start to get really juicy when our statisticians break the top relative searches down by state. Similar to last year, there were states that seemed most interested in themselves, such as Nevada searching for \u201cvegas\u201d or Arizona searching for \u201cnavajo.\u201d This also applies to New York searching \u201cturkish,\u201d which has the second largest number of Turkish residents in the US, and New Jersey searching \u201ciranian,\u201d where there is a large Iranian population. <\/p>\n\n\n\n California is still interested in moms again this year, showing a particular interest in \u201cfriends mom\u201d (last year it was \u201casian step mom\u201d), whereas Wisconsin has switched it up completely from \u201cswingers\u201d in 2023 to \u201cpee\u201d in 2024. The trends of Demure Desires and Pornhub Wives matches with Maryland\u2019s interest in \u201cgirlfriend\u201d and New Mexico\u2019s interest in \u201chousewife.\u201d In Minnesota, \u201cfuta hentai\u201d enforces the Animated Arousal trend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n It comes as no surprise that the top country is yet again the United States. With a country of over 300 million people, it accounts for a large portion of traffic to Pornhub.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In second place was France, followed extremely closely by the Philippines in third. Last year, France was in 3rd<\/sup> and the Philippines was in 2nd<\/sup>. With the Olympics in Paris this year, our statisticians theorize the tiny margin between the two countries could have been tipped in the direction of France due to all the visitors and athletes visiting the country for the big event. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Mexico in 4th<\/sup> place and the United Kingdom in 5th<\/sup> place remained in their respective positions from last year. Germany was bumped up +1 to 6th<\/sup> place and Brazil was bumped up +3 to 7th<\/sup> place. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Our statisticians saw Peru on the Top 20 Countries list for the first time this year, with a big bump of +5 places. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Overall, the Top 20 Countries make up 79.2% of all daily traffic. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The average time spent per visit was down \u201329 seconds, making the average engagement time per visit 9 minutes and 40 seconds. We\u2019re looking at you, 18-24 age group. Their average visit was \u201376 seconds below the average, but who can blame them? Those in the 65+ age group spent +83 seconds more than average, so it all kind of evens itself out. <\/p>\n\n\n\n When our statisticians broke it down by country, Mexico spent the most time per visit to Pornhub, with an average of 11 minutes and 1 second. Next was the Netherlands, who spent an average of 10 minutes and 51 seconds. And in third was the United States, where visitors came and went in 10 minutes and 37 seconds. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Poland was down at the bottom, lasting an average of 8 minutes and 35 seconds per visit. Following Poland was Peru, whose average visit lasted 8 minutes and 39 seconds. After Peru, Brazil averaged 8 minutes and 45 seconds per visit. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Overall, female visitors spent +17 seconds longer per visit compared to male visitors. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The age groups varied, with 25-34 year olds lasting \u201324 seconds below average and the 35-44 age group lasting \u20132 seconds below average. Once the 45-54 age group comes in, they spent +25 seconds more than average and the 54-64 year old age group lasted +69 seconds longer. Nice. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Would you look at that, in 2024, traffic in the United States lasted a whole 46 seconds longer than last year! 10 minutes and 37 seconds was the average visit duration in the United States this year, up 46 seconds from 2024. Give yourself a pat on the back! <\/p>\n\n\n\n The state that spent the most amount of time on average was Alaska, lasting 11 minutes and 4 seconds. The next two states were tied, with Connecticut and Wisconsin both averaging 10 minutes and 46 seconds. When our statisticians looked for the states with the quickest visits, they found Louisiana to be shortest, at 9 minutes and 18 seconds. In a close second and third shortest visit, Wyoming averaged 9 minutes and 40 seconds and Vermont lasted 9 minutes and 41 seconds. <\/p>\n\n\n\n As far as duration changes went, Washington saw an increase of +66 seconds on average from last year, Oregon saw a +58 second increase, and Alaska jumped +55 seconds. As for those that went down, Rhode Island spent a whole minute less on average, down \u201364 seconds. Delaware was down \u201357 seconds and Mayland was down \u201360 seconds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n When were people\u2019s favorite times to watch porn this year? Our statisticians found out! As you might expect, when looking at the weekly average, the lowest points were around 5 and 6 a.m. but it remained below average from 3 a.m. to 1 p.m. throughout the week. It was the top category in 2023 and 2022. Overall, it\u2019s an extremely popular category and a common fantasy amongst straight men, who make up a large portion of viewers on Pornhub. <\/p>\n\n\n\n This year saw big jumps in interest. The Verified Amateurs category rose +10 spots this year. Public jumped +8 spots, Babe rose +6, Brazilian was up +9 spots, and French rose +12. In Canada and Australia, they continued to enjoy women loving women, like last year, where Lesbian was their most viewed category. In the US and many parts of Africa, Ebony was yet again their most viewed category this year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The popularity of the Anal category moved around a little this year. In Russia and many countries in south and west South America, Anal was their top category. Last year, Anal dominated many parts of Europe and Greenland. Cosplay\u2019s increase of +33% could potentially be running parallel to the rising popularity of animated content. And Behind The Scenes +75% increase could have something to do with users who are looking for new ways to connect with their favorite performers. The authenticity of behind-the-scenes footage ties into the Demure Desires trend this year. Another notable point of interest is the MILF category, which is already wildly popular, has grown by a huge +37%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The categories viewed the longest included Massage (who doesn\u2019t want a massage to keep going?), clocking in at 8 minutes and 22 seconds on average. The Reality category was next, with 7 minutes and 48 seconds on average. They pop in to get the job done and they\u2019re out, no time for browsing! Next was Virtual Reality, at 4 minutes and 39 seconds. And after that, Cosplay, at 4 minutes and 52 seconds. It\u2019s worth noting that all these categories were popular among the 18-24 age group, who are perhaps yet to build up some stamina.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Over on PornhubGay, the most searched terms remained similar to last year. Once again, \u201ctwink\u201d took the top spot, followed by \u201canime\u201d and then \u201cpinoy,\u201d which is a term used for a male of Filipino decent. Oddly enough, the term \u201cpinay\u201d landed in 3rd<\/sup> for straight and the term \u201cpinoy\u201d landed in 3rd<\/sup> for gay. The interest in animated content was not an orientation thing \u2013 like the top straight terms, \u201canime\u201d made an appearance in a top category here too. But after that, things started changing. The term \u201cfemboy\u201d was up +4, \u201cstraight guys first time\u201d was up +1, and \u201cfurry\u201d rose +2 spots. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The terms that saw large increases included \u201canimation\u201d at +9, \u201clatino\u201d at +8, \u201ccute femboy\u201d at +19, \u201cblack gay\u201d at +7, and \u201cftm\u201d at +9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Unlike the terms, the gay categories had a lot more movement this year. The twinks were topping everyone this year, even the straight guys! Twink rose +2 spots to the most viewed category, bumping Straight Guys down to 3rd<\/sup> place. Hunnypaint, who wasn\u2019t on the list last year, found themselves as the 3rd most viewed performers in 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The next three are popular PornhubGay pornstars, Cade Maddox, Rhyheim Shabazz, and Dante Cole.<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n With the Transgender category and Trans searches becoming more and more popular worldwide, our statisticians dug into the data to see who the most viewed Trans performers of the year were. <\/p>\n\n\n\n In the lead by quite a wide margin was PuppyGirlXO, who has accumulated over 50 million video views on Pornhub. The 2nd<\/sup> most viewed Trans performer was Emma Rose, who has over 134 million videos views. For example, the favorite category of men was Japanese again this year, just like it was in 2023. For women, Japanese was their 2nd<\/sup> favorite category, the same as it was in 2023. In 2024, both men and women had a rising interest in the MILF category. For men, it rose +2 spots to become their 2nd<\/sup> favorite, and for women it rose +4 spots to be their 3rd<\/sup> favorite category. And for the first time ever, Anal is now equally popular with men and women, as it’s the 4th most viewed category for both genders, increasing by +2 for women. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Since 2023, there was not a lot of change for men. Japanese, Ebony, Transgender, Lesbian, Threesome, Hentai, and Big Dick all remained in the same place as last year. Asian saw a boost of +5 spots and French saw an increase of +9, which makes sense with the Olympics being held in France this year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n For women, their interest varied a little more. The same categories as last year shifted a few spots, not changing much. However, Ebony dropped \u20134 spots, Brazilian jumped up +10, and Bisexual Male rose +3. <\/p>\n\n\n\n When our statisticians viewed which categories were viewed more by women compared to men, the results were more obvious. Scissoring was watched more by women by +143%. Women also watched Pussy Licking more by +103%, Solo male by +88%, Fingering by +71%, Muscular Men by +70%, and Popular With Women by +68%. Women also showed a +60% interest in Bisexual Male and were +45% more likely to view the Romantic category. <\/p>\n\n\n\n When our statisticians looked to see who the most searched for pornstars by women were, they found Lexi Lore, Esperanza Gomez, and Lana Rhoades at the top. The list includes many that are popular with straight men as well. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Looking to see who women searched for more compared to men, our statisticians found all the pornstars to be gay or bi men. Dom King was viewed +468% more by women than men, Alex Mecum was searched +373% more, and Diego Sans was viewed +316% more. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Female visitors topped the list again this year in the Philippines, with 59% of their traffic being women, and a growth of +1% since 2023. Argentina\u2019s visitors were 51% female, taking the 2nd<\/sup> spot from Colombia this year. They had a growth of +4% from 2023. In Colombia, women made up 49% of all visitors, up +1% from 2023. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The scale was tipped in the other direction through Europe, Australia, and North America. In Germany, female visitors accounted for 26% of traffic, in the United Kingdom, they made up 27% of traffic, up +2% from 2023. The Netherlands remained at 28% women and in Italy women accounted for 29% of traffic, up +3% from 2023. In the United States and Canada, women made up 29% of visitors, while men made up 71%. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Worldwide, women accounted for 38% of all visitors to Pornhub. The proportional growth in 2024 was +7%, quite a significant jump, telling our statisticians there may be some changing perceptions around women viewing porn. In the 2015 Year in Review, our statisticians found 24% of all visitors were women. Since then, it has climbed +14 percentage points, indicating a 58% growth in women’s share of traffic over the past decade. <\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n When it came to visitor demographics, the average age in 2024 was 38 years old, climbing +1 year. For the last few years, the average age has remained at 37. When our statisticians broke the average age groups down further, they found similar trends to years past. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The 18-24 age group made up the biggest portion of traffic, with 27% of all traffic falling into that category. Following closely behind was the 25-34 age group, which accounted for 24% of all traffic. Together, the 18 to 35 group makes up over half of Pornhub’s visitors, even after giving up -2 percentage points in 2024 to the over 35 crowd. <\/p>\n\n\n\n In general, the older the age groups get, the fewer viewers there are. The 35-44 age group accounted for 17% of all traffic, the 45-54 age group accounted for 14% of all traffic, the 55-64 age group accounted for 11% of all traffic, and finally, the 65+ age group accounted for only 7% of all traffic. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Besides the 18-24 age group and the 65+ age group, there were fluctuations in all the others. The 25-34 age group saw the only decrease in viewers, of \u20132%. The rest saw increases. The 35-44 age group increased +2%, the 45-54 age group increased +1%, and the 55-64 age group increased +3%. <\/p>\n\n\n\n When our statisticians broke it down by proportions in the top 20 countries, they found the 18-24 age group was the highest in Egypt, accounting for 50% of all viewers. Compare that to Spain and Argentina where they are less than 15%. <\/p>\n\n\n\n In Canada and Australia, visitors aged 25 to 34 make up the largest portion of their traffic at 26%, while Spain again has the lowest at only 11% of visitors. <\/p>\n\n\n\n In Poland, Ukraine and Germany nearly a quarter of visitors are aged 35-44, but that group only makes up 13% in Chile and Peru. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Spain has by far the largest portion of older visitors, with those over 45 making up 65% of all traffic. Nearly half of the traffic from Argentina and Chile are also over 45, compared to only 5% of visitors from Egypt. Argentina has the largest portion of 65+ visitors, making up 22% of their overall traffic. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The 55-64 age group was highest again in Spain at 22% and Chile at 19%. The lowest again occurred in the Philippines and Egypt. <\/p>\n\n\n\n For the 65+ age group, the highest number of viewers came from Argentina at 22% and Spain at 18%. <\/p>\n\n\n\n So, what categories were the generations the most interested in? Just like last year, they differed quite a bit from one group to the next. Our statisticians investigated the percentage difference in popularity compared to all the other age groups and found Gen Z (the 18-24 age group) were +392% more likely to view Vertical Videos. They were also +193% more likely to view Hentai, no doubt contributing to the popularity of the category, especially considering Gen Z accounts for a large portion of viewers. This number increased by 99 percentage points from last year, when Gen Z was +94% more likely to watch Hentai. And as many people like doing, they also viewed Gaming +151% more than the other groups. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Gen Z\u2019s interests have remained somewhat similar over the years. In 2023, their most proportionally viewed categories also included Hentai, Cosplay, Gaming, Virtual Reality, and Cartoon. In 2022, it also included Vertical Video, Cosplay, Cartoon, and Virtual Reality. <\/p>\n\n\n\n It is a fascinating point our statisticians discovered that Gen Z\u2019s interests were higher around non-porn style porn than actual porn. For example, Music, SFW (safe for work), and Gaming all appear in their top relative categories. It seems they are looking to get more from their experience on Pornhub than watching purely sex videos. It\u2019s almost like Gen Z is watching Pornhub for the podcasts, like Boomers read Playboy for the articles. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Gen Y were proportionally higher to view FMM by +69%. This number is up +44% from last year, when they were +25% more likely to view the category. They also enjoyed Tattooed Women more, at +45%. Parody is a new one on this list of categories for Gen Y, which they were +39% more likely to view. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Since last year, their interests have changed significantly, with only Tattooed Women remaining among the group\u2019s top relative categories. They switched out FFM in 2023 for FMM in 2024. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The Gen X age group (35-54) once again differed substantially from the other age groups. Gen X was +46% more likely to watch the Compilation category, +40% more likely to watch Role play, and +28% more likely to watch Feet. Transgender was again one of Gen X’s top relative categories by +18%, and Fisting by +22% compared to other ages. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The Boomers were a little more predictable in their tastes. The categories Handjob, BBW, and Bisexual Male all appeared again on their proportional interests this year. However, last year the top spot was the Smoking category and this year it went to Strap On, which was +36% more likely to be viewed. They were also more interested in group sex, with Gangbangs and Double Penetration toping their proportional category interests. <\/p>\n\n\n\n With the rapidly changing environment of devices and technology, people are watching Pornhub in a variety of different ways. In 2024, smartphones made up 90.5% of worldwide traffic, a 1% decrease from the previous year. Desktop and laptop computers, while making up only 7.9% of traffic, did increase their share by +11%, as did tablets by +8% compared to 2023. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Breaking down the 3 devices to see what the top 20 countries prefer, it\u2019s no surprise that phones dominate the data. The countries with the most phone traffic include Philippines in the lead, with a whopping 97% of all traffic coming from their phones. Mexico is next, with 96% of all traffic coming from their phones. And then Egypt and Colombia with 95%. Egypt has the highest number of Gen Z viewers, who grew up using smartphones, so it\u2019s no surprise. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Desktop usage was highest in Australia, at 12% of all traffic from the country attributed to desktop. They were followed by Peru, Poland, and Canada, at 11% of all traffic. France and the United Kingdom both had 10% of visitors arriving by desktop. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Breaking this data down further by operating system, things start to get really interesting. Traffic from Apple devices has plummeted by \u201327% since 2023. Devices based on Apple’s iOS, including iPhones and iPads, make up 34.7% of mobile traffic, whereas Android makes up 65.2% this year, up 24% since last year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n In our 2022 Year in Review Insights, Apple and Android were neck in neck, with Apple accounting for 48.3% of all phone traffic and Android accounting for 51.5% of phone traffic. Since then, Android has tipped the scales in its favor. <\/p>\n\n\n\n It is worth noting that Android does have the market share among smartphone users, with nearly 70% of people currently using Android over iPhone, according to this article<\/a>. Android devices dominate in a lot of countries, especially Asian countries, where our growth in those regions in the last few years has boosted Android\u2019s user base. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The traffic from desktops revealed a similar tip of the scales. This year, Windows makes up 71.7% of all desktop traffic, an increase of +14% since 2023. Apple traffic makes up 20.3% of desktop users, down in share \u201326% since 2023. Linux saw a boost, +41% since 2023, accounting for 5.1% of desktop traffic. And Chrome OS was down \u201312%, accounting for 0.4% of desktop traffic. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Similar trends follow when our statisticians broke the traffic down by web browser. Chrome accounted for 64.7% of mobile browser traffic, an increase in share of +23%. Safari made up 26.2%, down \u201335% from last year. The other 9.1% of mobile browser traffic came from a mix of Samsung, which accounted for 4.2%, up +37% from last year, Android at 2.1%, down \u20135% from 2023, and then Opera at 1.2%, Firefox at 0.7%, and YaBrowser at 0.5%. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The results were quite similar on desktop browsers. Chrome accounted for the majority, with 56% of traffic coming from there, up +6% from 2023. Safari accounted for 14%, down \u201340% from last year. Edge was up +12% this year to account for 13% of traffic. Firefox was up +57% since last year, now accounting for 8% of desktop traffic. Opera made up 7% and Samsung made up 1%. <\/p>\n\n\n\n As more and more people upgrade to newer gaming consoles, the traffic from older ones begin to drop. Last year PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 had nearly equal traffic. This year, PlayStation 5 accounted for 60% of all game console traffic, growing its share by +49% since 2023. PlayStation 4 accounted for 35% of console traffic, down \u201316% from 2023. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Xbox dropped significantly, down \u201370% from 2023 to make up only 4.9% of gaming console traffic. For context, last year Xbox traffic made up 16.7% of gaming console traffic. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Pop culture, especially movies and video games, have a cultural impact outside the mainstream. It is human nature to fantasize about what we see, whether that is a beautiful person we encounter on the street or a character in a video game that stirs the carnal desire inside us. This becomes most evident in movie parodies and video game characters our statisticians see trending on Pornhub. <\/p>\n\n\n\n This year, Harley Quinn took the top spot from Star Wars, no doubt because of the new Joker movie. In 2023, the two were neck in neck, but his year Harley Quinn took the lead by a wide margin. Game of Thrones, Avatar, Harry Potter, and Wonder Woman all remained in their respective spots from 2023. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Overall, lots of men in tights dominating the list, with many of the repeat characters we see year after year. For example, Deadpool and Wolverine, even though they both shared the spotlight and billboards of 2024, we think Deadpool would be happy to know he came out on top of Wolverine, at least among Pornhub’s loyal superhero parody viewers. That said, Star Trek appeared for the very first time this year on the list. <\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n The popularity of Fortnite continues again this year, as it did in 2023, 2022, and 2021. Once again it was the most searched for video game, but this year Genshin Impact was hot on its heels, jumping +4 spots from 2023 to make it the 2nd<\/sup> most searched video game. Pok\u00e9mon jumped +1 spot this year, placing it in 3rd<\/sup>. Overwatch and Minecraft were both down \u20132 spots this year. With the release of the Fallout TV show adaptation, our statisticians saw a surge of interest in the video game, jumping it +14 spots this year. Final Fantasy also saw a big jump, no doubt due to the release of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, launching it +10 spots this year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n For video game characters, Chun Li, whose origins are in Street Fighter but is also a playable skin in Fortnite, was again the most searched video game character of 2024, same as 2023. Lara Croft, who has been a popular video game character for a long time, landed in 2nd place this year, up from 4th place last year. And Tifa from Final Fantasy, who was in 2nd place in 2023, dropped down \u20131 to land in 3rd this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Regional holidays and events impact the traffic to Pornhub in different ways. Depending on the event and the country, the traffic can change quite drastically. Take for example Thanksgiving Day in the United States, where traffic dropped \u201333.5%. When everyone is travelling, eating with their families, or falling asleep after filling their bellies full of turkey, it\u2019s no surprise that number is so high. <\/p>\n\n\n\n A similar drop was found in Italy on Assumption of Mary, with \u201332.4% of traffic coming to Pornhub. The same happened in Poland on Easter Sunday, another family-centric (and religious event), where traffic fell \u201331.6% that day. <\/p>\n\n\n\n On other regional holidays, the traffic seemed significantly less impacted. Take for example Moulid Al-Nabi in Egypt, where traffic only fell \u20138.3%. During Malanka in Ukraine, traffic only dropped \u20138.8%. And on August 26 for the UK\u2019s Summer Holiday, traffic only fell \u20139.3%. <\/p>\n\n\n\n On the biggest party night of the year, traffic is always down between 6 p.m. and midnight. As 2024 began, the New Years Eve party was going strong in Italy, with the largest drop in traffic between all the top 20 countries. In Italy, traffic was down \u201358%, beating the Netherlands in 2023, when they had the largest drop in traffic on New Years with a drop of \u201361%. In 2023, Italy\u2019s traffic was down \u201344%. The party in Mexico was going strong too, with a drop of \u201355%, and same applied in Colombia, where traffic was down \u201354%. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The countries that seemed the least effected by the celebrations were Egypt, where traffic fell \u201312%, Japan where traffic fell \u201318%, and the United States, where it was only down \u201335%. <\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n Big cultural events around the world always effect traffic to Pornhub. During these times, the porn viewing habits of people worldwide are altered to accommodate the events.
