After seeing how other events like <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pornhub.com\/insights\/pornhub-oktoberfest\">Oktoberfest<\/a> can affect traffic and searches, the folks at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.chip.de\/news\/Koelle-Anal-So-gings-zum-Koelner-Karneval-auf-PornHub-ab-CHIP-Exklusiv_89915640.html\">Chip.de<\/a> asked the Pornhub Statisticians to keep an eye on data related to Karneval.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>We found that in the week surrounding the celebration, searches containing Karneval and Carnival increased significantly, peaking at 798% above daily average on February 6, 2016.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.pornhub.com\/insights\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/pornhub-insights-germany-cologne-carnival-karneval-volume.png\" alt=\"pornhub-insights-germany-cologne-carnival-karneval-volume\" width=\"620\" height=\"674\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-6891\" style=\"border:none;\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Our statisticians also scanned our search data to find terms that increased over the Karneval period. Many were related to wearing costumes such as &#8220;uniform german&#8221; (up 2023%), &#8220;catsuit&#8221; (848%), &#8220;costume&#8221; (312%) and &#8220;cosplay&#8221; (194%).<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.pornhub.com\/insights\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/pornhub-insights-germany-cologne-carnival-karneval-searches.png\" alt=\"pornhub-insights-germany-cologne-carnival-karneval-searches\" width=\"620\" height=\"862\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-6892\" style=\"border:none;\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>We also checked to see if traffic in Cologne changed significantly, but found it remained close to daily averages. Although many regular Pornhub users may have been busy celebrating, the influx of visitors to the region could have compensated for any traffic losses.
