Now that Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump have officially been named the presidential candidate for their parties, we figured this would be a good time to see how popular they each were based on Pornhub searches. Both Trump and Clinton have been the subject of numerous porn parodies<\/a>, so\u00a0we’ve seen searches increase<\/a> for both candidates as the election cycle has ramped up.<\/p>\n

Overall, Trump beats out Clinton across the board. Search terms containing\u00a0“Trump” are\u00a0searched 144% more often than those containing “Clinton”. When it comes to genders\u00a0we found that women search Trump 1704% more than Clinton, and men search Trump 118% more than Clinton. However, if we compare the genders to each other, men are 556% more likely to search for Clinton\u00a0compared to women, and women are 26% more likely to search for Trump when compared to men.<\/p>\n

Pornhub visitors in the 18 to 24 age group are 92% more likely to search for Trump when compared to all other age groups. They are also 61% more likely to search for Clinton compared to other ages, along with people in the 45 to 54 age group who are 62% more likely.<\/p>\n

When compared to other states, Trump is proportionally searched more often by Pornhub visitors from Connecticut,\u00a0New Jersey,\u00a0Maryland,\u00a0Delaware and\u00a0Massachusetts.<\/p>\n

When compared to other states, Clinton is proportionally searched more often by Pornhub visitors from Wyoming,\u00a0South Dakota,\u00a0West Virginia,\u00a0New Hampshire and\u00a0Ohio.<\/p>\n

There are more searches containing “Trump” in all states than searches for “Clinton”, but some states are much more interested in Trump. Visitors from Hawaii are 327% more likely to search for Trump compared to Clinton, and California is 247% more likely.<\/p>\n

We recently looked at how Pornhub usage changed during the Republican National Convention <\/a>in Cleveland, so our statisticians did the same for the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia. Although Cleveland’s Pornhub traffic increased during the RNC, we found no measurable increase in Philadelphia from July 25th to 28th.<\/p>\n

During the DNC, searches for Hillary Clinton increased as much as 222% across the United States, and 233% in Philadelphia. After Michelle Obama’s convention speech searches for her increased 441% across the United States, and 275% in Philadelphia. Although searches for Trump increased slightly across the United States during the DNC, his searches dropped by 22% in Philadelphia.\u00a0These percent changes are compared to the average daily searches for each person during the month of July.<\/p>\n

On July 31st the public\u00a0was shocked when it was revealed<\/a> that Melania Trump had taken part in a nude photo shoot in 1996. The internet exploded\u00a0with searches as people looked to\u00a0see Melania’s\u00a0nude photos, and searches on Pornhub were no exception. By the morning of Monday, August 1st, searches for Melania were up 2019% above earlier\u00a0averages. We last saw an increase of 1477% after Melania’s speech at the\u00a0Republican National Convention<\/a>. We expect searches to continue to increase as the story circulates the internet.<\/p>\n
